A Short Note on Mexico Economy
Nobody would believe that Mexico economy is actually the eleventh largest economy in the world. This country is so calm with their policies and reforms that they silently yet effectively move towards their goal at a rapid pace. The best thing about the economy of Mexico is that they always have a steady growth rate.
It is never too flamboyant or never too low down. A steady and consistent growth rate is the forte of the Mexican economy. Another interesting thing about the Mexican economy is their stability in macroeconomic trends. Not many countries have found favor with macroeconomic stability but Mexico.
The Nominal Values:
The country has a Gross Domestic Product of approximately around 1475 billion dollars while the GDP per capita income is about 13,250 dollars. The inflation of this country is slightly better at 5.79%.
This country like many others too suffered during the debacle year of 2009 and it witnessed a decrease in the growth rate by about 6.8%. This decrease in the growth was not expected out of Mexico mainly because of their highly stable economy.
This did some severe damage to the country’s economy in the sense that it was stagnated for a while and took a long time to get back on its normal routine.
Strange Fact:
Mexico economy might be the eleventh largest in the world, but the living standards of the people in Mexico is not so encouraging. An approximate estimate of the percentage of the population below the poverty line was baffling indeed. It was reported that eighteen percent of the country’s total population was below the poverty line. This is something that the economy of Mexico has to look in carefully and bring in the necessary changes as quickly as possible.
Unemployment is another disturbing factor which the country has to take care of.
