This country boasts of having huge mineral resources and energy resources as well. The mineral resources are mainly crude oil and coal.

Coal and petroleum forms the backbone of the economy of Colombia because this country exports lot of its reserves to other nations, especially the United States. In addition to coal and crude oil, it has huge deposits of gold and nickel.

The GDP and GDP Growth:

Colombia is seriously a country of great importance to the world economy. It might not be having a very convincing market in the global scenario but it has a great influence with its oil exports. Over the years, the Colombia economy thrived and sustained because of its petroleum exports to other countries and it is still exporting huge quantities of oil to other countries.

Now let us concentrate on the GDP and the GDP growth of the economy of Columbia. The GDP is about 399.500 billion dollars and percentage of GDP growth is about 8.4%. This country is no pushover and the world would have a severe setback if Colombia decides to stay away from its petroleum exports.
